Theoretically, a Catholic School is deemed a mini-parish. In this regard, the Campus Ministry is called to render Pastoral care to the learners/students for the latter to understand and appreciate our Catholic faith. In this direction, Sr. Rose Anne Hotricano, OSF, Grade School CM Staff, aside from the Basic Catechism the children must also be given a separate day for recollection. She scheduled this last November 27 and 28 for girls and boys, respectively, before their First Communion. Prior to aforesaid activity there was a Parent's Recollection which was facilitated by Fr. Lito Geangan on November 17 held at the High School Multi-Media Center.
Finally, last December 1, 2007, at 8:30 in the morning, 121 pupils received their First Communion at the St. Joseph Cathedral. The celebration was also presided by Fr. Lito Geangan. The Basic Education Chaplain, Fr. Ramilo V. Mapaye, SVD, joined and assisted Fr. Geangan. The activity was fully supported by the Faculty and Staff of the Grade School Department who were all present during the Holy Mass.
