Most Rev. Leonardo Y. Medroso, DD - Bishop of the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Mrs. Esperanza L. Relampagos, Executive Director of the Sunshine Home, and Ms. Esperanza E. Bruñidor, Diocesan President for Catholic Women's League, jointly expressed their appreciation to the first semester (SY 2007-2008) Education 23A students of Dr. Roque A. Bongcac for the support services they have extended to the more than 20 orphaned, abandoned, and exploited children of the Sunshine Home.

In a letter dated November 2, 2007, Bishop Medroso, Mrs. Relampagos, and Ms. Bruñidor expressed their thanks for the "love, concern, and generosity which the HNU had shown to the less fortunate children through the efforts of the Education 23A classes headed by Del Mark Cagatin and Norman Tenio.

These students of Dr. Bongcac volunteered as tutors to the children in the Sunshine Home on Saturdays for one semester. The activity was part of their requirements in Observation and Community Participation. Aside from the tutorial services, the Education students also raised funds to buy school supplies and rice for these children.
