The Holy Namian family, otherwise known as the Arnuldos family, keeps on growing spiritually and professionally. Although the purity of the Holynamian spirit is still as jubilant as it has been. It is an undeniable fact that new family members opt to be in the Arnoldus umbrella as the new school year begins. It is for this reason that the Janseen Campus welcomes another batch of new mentors.
First in line is the High School Department's regent for this school year-Frt. Severo B. Biton, Jr., SVD who hails from Sta. Clara, Lamitan, Basilan.
Speaking of educational background, Frt. Jong, as he is fondly called graduated elementary at Sta. Clara Elementary School in Lamitan. Likewise, he finished highschool at Claret High School in Isabela, Basilan then took up A.B. Political Science at Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City. It was in the same institution where he also obtained the Certificate of Governmental Management Major in Organization and Management.
Prodded by his background in Political Science, he redirected his concentration to take up Law at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City. His previous involvements and employment records reveal that he became a municipal councilor in Lamitan from 1992 - 1998. Moreover, he was once the Administrative Officer for PARECO-WM or Presidential Assistance for Regional Concerns - Western Mindanao from 2000-2001. He was also appointed as Administrative Officer of the office of the Vice-Mayor in Lamitan from 2001-2002.
However, giving himself totally in the service for the Lord is what is always in Frt. Jong's mind, thus, he decided to take up Associate in Philosophy at Christ the King Mission Seminary, Quezon City in 2002-2003. He then proceeded to take up A.B. Theology at Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay City in 2005-2007 prior to his stint at HNU.
Presently, Frt. Jong helps run the High School's Campus Ministry and at the same time, he is also handling Christain Living class to IV-St. Arnold Janssen. Further, he is appointed as Mrs. Bongcac's associate in directing the Glee Club.
This school year, the Language Department has been privileged to acquire the potentials of a "dynamic resourceful mentor with a genuine interest in students' cognitive and social growth." She is Miss Ma. Fe Cheryl A. Ybañez, a resident of Mahogany Street, Katayngan, Mansasa District Tagbilaran City.
Miss Ybañez has always been showing her active involvements in the different fields of scholastic exposures that range from computer literacy, hosting, curriculum planning and journalism.
As a classroom teacher, she had her baptism of fire at Bohol Wisdom School where she had been connected for two consecutive years. After which, she tried her luck at St. Theresine School in Tagbilaran before setting foot in Iligan where she had been a part of Iligan Capitol College and Lyceum of Iligan Foundation.
The call to serve her Alma Mater, where she graduated cum laude, seems irresistible to Miss Ybañez. Thus, after several attempts of being in different work places, she finally made up her mind to ink the teaching contract with Holy Name University. Miss Ybañez handles English II and III. Moreso, she assists Mrs. Orcullo in manning the English Club.
Another mentor taking a new challenge in the SVD-run institution in the Language Dept.'s banner is Mrs. Aly Marie Cajilog, resident of Uptown Housing Project, Ubujan District, Tagbilaran City.
Mrs. Cajilog completed her elementary and high school years at Imbatug Central Elementary School in Bukidnoon and Cathedral School of Technology in Cagayan de Oro City respectively. Xavier University became her college Alma Mater. Before becoming a part of the Holynamian system, she was connected with the Bohol Wisdom School from 1989-2006 where she held different positions and responsibilities aside from being a classroom teacher. Mrs. Cajilog is not a first-timer in the Holynamian ground considering that she had been connected with the College Department before she was assigned for a full-time teaching assignment in the High School Department. She is handling Filipino II, and together with Mrs. Llido, serves as Filipino Club moderator.
In the same manner, the Science Dept. welcomes the arrival of the three additional Science educators.
Mrs. Adelwisa Balatayo-Adaptar, a resident of Lindaville Subd. Phase I, is among this year's new figures in the Science Dep't. She substitutes Mrs. Mende who is on maternity leave. Mrs. Adaptar finished Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Southwestern University, Cebu City.
Motivated by her strong desire to touch the young minds and innocent souls, she took up qualifying units with English as the major field at HNU in 2001-2002, and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers in 2002. Likewise, she took and passed the required number of units in Master of Arts in Education major in Administration at HNU.
Speaking of work experiences, she was once a laboratory aide at the Philippine National Red Cross, Bohol Chapter. Afterwhich, she was hired as a classroom teacher at Holy Cross Academy Tubigon, Bohol SY 2003-2006. She is presently handling Science I.
Another newcomer in the Science Dept. is Mrs. Ma. Thesageen P. Sarabia who was born in Malaybalay Bukidnon but presently residing at Upper Canda-it, Dampas District Tagbilaran City. Mrs. Sarabia finished elementary at Bukidnon State College-ELS, and it was still at Bukidnon State College-SSL that she obtained her high school diploma. She then made the next move of making Liceo de Cagayan University her college Alma Mater.
Experiencewise, she was connected with Bukidnon State College from 1998 to 2006 before becoming a faculty member of the Janssen Campus. Guided by her newly-acquired Holynamian vision to help shape an individual's future, she is assigned to handle Science I and II. Likewise, she helps Miss Barcial in supervising the Environment Saver's Club.
Mr. Benzon Sajonia, a resident of San Antonio, Duero, Bohol, is among the new faces visible in the Science Dept. His primary educational years were spent at Duero Central Elementary School. He continued to explore his high school years at Immaculate Academy, Duero Bohol.
His strong determination to teach guided his steps to take up Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Biology and minor in Chemistry at CVSCAFT in Candijay.
Right after graduation, he was offered to be a part of the teaching force at his college Alma Mater. Later, he found himself working at Bohol Wisdom School. Considering that he is an enrollee at HNU for his graduate studies, he opted to be a full-blooded Holynamian for this academic year.
Mr. Sajonia's new assignment in the new working environment where he is to handle Science II and III. Further, he also helps Mrs. Bapilar in taking responsibility of the High School's Science Quiz team.
The Math Dept.'s concern of looking for another teacher to be included in their line-up for this school year was literally answered by the high school's chaplain, Rev. Fr. Ramilo Mapaye, SVD.
It can be recalled that Fr. Mapaye who was just ordained last February 3, 2006, took HNU as his first mission assignment. Truly indeed, he is a man that shows extreme passion whenever he is needed. In his recent assignment, his hands are always full of his responsibilities in the Campus Ministry wherein his areas of concentration are the Grade School and the High School campuses. Nevertheless, he never turned down the request for him to handle Math 4 with the seniors knowing that he himself was a certified Mathematics teacher prior to his decision of entering the SVD seminary.
