Mr. Angelo "Gelo" Porlares Yuayan is a Zamboangeño born on June 22, 1982. His parents are from the Visayas, his father, Nemesio S. Yuayan originally comes from Sagay, Bulanon, Negros Occidental, and his mother, Tita L. Porlares is a paisano from Punsod, Maribojoc, Bohol. Still single, Gelo is the eldest of two siblings. In 1995, he completed his primary education at the Tetuan Central School in Zamboanga City. He graduated With Honors from the Zamboanga City High School (Main) in 1999. Pursuing his college education close to home, he studied at Western Mindanao State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics in 2003.
In June 2003, he was hired by Ateneo de Zamboanga University, working as a substitute college faculty member for one year, teaching Statistics and basic Math subjects. With divine inspiration he entered a diocesan seminary in 2005, and after three years, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School.
In April 2008, with optimism, Mr. Yuayan, with this family, transferred to Bohol in response to the demands of the time. He presently resides in Punsod, Maribojoc. With great blessing, he was hired by Holy Name University in June 2008 and started working for the HNU-CRLG in the same month.
