This school year 2008 – 2009, the Campus Ministry Department of Holy Name University has its new set of personnel. One of them is the Director himself, Fr. Ruel Secuya Gado, SVD.Fr. Ruel, who is an Electronics and Communications Engineer by profession, became a two-timer Mr. Cebu before he enters the Seminary. He was a skilled PRT and a Dance Instructor. His first vows as a religious missionary was on June 6, 1993 and his final vows was on May 24, 1998. He was ordained as a Deacon in July 1998 and in priesthood on December 11, 1998. He was sent to Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan to take an Intensive Course in Japanese Language and Culture. After his study, he stayed in Nagoya for his first mission assignment (1999 – 2005). From Japan, he was assigned as a Chaplain at the University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus (2005 – 2007). According to him, his name Ruel in Hebrew is REUL which means ‘FRIEND OF GOD’. Another new face in the Campus Ministry Office is a nun who is a Computer Engineer by profession. A graduate of Technological University of the Philippines, scholar of the Department of Science and Technology and a member of Manila Technician Institute Computer Society (MTICS). Her first vow as a religious was on February 2, 2005. She was assigned before as a Campus Minister and at the same time a Christian Living Teacher at Father Urios High School, Ampayon, Butuan City (2005 – 2007). She is Sr. Susan Montaner Dejolde, MSM (Missionary Sisters of Mary). She is presently a Staff member of HNU Campus Ministry - College Department. Sr. Evelyn Cloma Rosales, HCK (Handmaid of Christ the King) has been with the Campus Ministry Office since January of this year. She was born in General Santos City. She is an alumna of Holy Name University (Divine Word College then), a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She was assigned before as In-charge of Christ the King Cathecatical Centers in Sevilla and Loboc, Bohol. At present, she is also a staff member of HNU Campus Ministry – College Department. Sr. M. Corrine Olaguer, OSF (Order of Saint Francis) who is a teacher by profession is a returnee to the HNU Campus Ministry. She had been previously connected with the Campus Ministry in 1996 – 2003. Before coming back to Holy Name University, she had served as an Administrator of the OSF Retreat House in Maghaway, Talisay, Cebu. She was also assigned as a Registrar at St. John Evangelist Seminary, Palo, Tacloban City. At present she is a Staff member of HNU Campus Ministry – High School Department.

Some highlights of the Campus Ministry Program are the Enhancement Week and the Basic Orientation Seminar for all students who are aspiring to join the Campus Ministry Student Organizations. These activities are entry points for each student to become active and participative in the CM Program.
Last July 13 – 19, 2008 we held the Campus Ministry Enhancement Week for this school year 2008 – 2009. Within the one-week celebration, the Campus Ministry Student Organization members conducted a room-to-room campaign and a lobby display in order to ensure the awareness of the whole HNU studentry about Campus Ministry and its Program.
On July 20, 2008, the Campus Ministry Department held its Basic Orientation Seminar Program at HNU Main Audio Visual Hall. The activity was attended by eighty-five (85) college students coming from different year levels. Members from the different student organizations rendered their presentations in order to entertain the participants while the climax of the whole activity is the presentation of the HNU Campus Ministry Program.
