The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) recently held a Test Construction Seminar. The whole-day seminar, held on July 5, 2006 at the CAS Faculty room, was attended by the new members of the faculty as well as those who wanted to hear updates on the topic. Articulating the very useful topic was Dr. Crisanto P. Pancito of the Math and Sciences Department. Dr. Pancito made the topic very interesting, generating an active involvement from the participants. One of the important terms the participants learned during the seminar is HOTS or Higher Order Thinking Skills.
A workshop was held in the afternoon to provide the participants a venue to try out the test construction techniques. With the feedback and inputs from the speaker and the other members of the group, each of the participants went home better equipped in their preparations for the Prelim Exams.
Present to welcome the participants was CAS Dean Estrellita Sajulan along with Department Chairpersons Ramon Boloron and Juliet Espiritu. The Test Construction Seminar is the first among the series of seminars that the CAS will initiate for the continuing development of its faculty and staff for school year 2008 – 2009.
