The new lawyers of Holy Name University, Attys. Susan Espera L. Concha, Teodula B. de los Reyes, and Beatriz Paz Dominique D. Lim took their oath before the Supreme Court, in an en banc session on April 29, 2008 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasig City, Metro Manila. Concha, de los Reyes, and Lim were among the 1,289 successful examinees of the 2007 Bar Examinations conducted by the Supreme Court. A total of 5,626 law graduates took the examinations and the passing percentage was only 22.91%, indicating that the examinations were one of the toughest in recent years.
The oath-taking, which was held en masse, was attended by friends and relatives of the new lawyers, the members of the bar committee in charge of examinations, and the deans, and representatives of the law schools all over the country.
The pictures below show de los Reyes, Concha, and Lim signing the Roll of Attorneys at the Office of the Bar Confidant, at the Supreme Court, the day following their oath-taking. Attys. De los Reyes and Lim are now members of HNU’s College of Business and Accountancy, teaching law subjects.
The new lawyers will be honored during a testimonial dinner in the evening of August 22.
