On January 17, 2008, the students enrolled in English 74-E (Remedial Instruction in English) of Mrs. Rosalie F. Bojos, together with Dr. Maria Carmen S. Decierdo, Chairperson, Languages Department, and Dr. Doris B. Patindol, a language professor, visited Mater Dei College in Tubigon, Bohol. Twenty-one BSED students taking the subject availed of the opportunity to be exposed to a reading class at Mater Dei College.
Upon arrival, Dr. Ceferina Ranario, the Vice President for Academic Affairs of Mater Dei College welcomed the group of Holynamians where she answered all the queries pertinent to the organization, design, and implementation of a remedial class in Reading. Then, the group was brought to the Reading Center where Remedial Reading classes were conducted.
The group observed their Remedial Reading classes which were manned by a trained Reading teacher and three student-teachers who served as assistants. It was a gainful experience to watch the methods and strategies employed by the teacher in handling the students with reading difficulties.
