The College of Computer Science held its annual general assembly last June 27, 2009 at the main gymnasium. The said assembly was well-attended by the COCS students and the faculty members led by the dean, Mrs. Amie Rosarie C. Caballo, who opened the event and oriented the students regarding the College of Computer Science.
The COCS faculty members and staff were introduced by one of the faculty members, Mrs. Maria Celia Z. Ligason. A movie on the incoming departmental and institutional activities was shown in order to attract the interest of the students to participate.
For students’ activities, Mr. Richard Araneta, the outgoing COCS governor, detailed a governor’s report that detailed the audited financial statement of his previous term. Ms. Christine Marie Zacal, the COCS departmental representative, introduced the rest of the LGU officers.
The College of Computer Science has two active student organizations namely, Society of Young Computer Professionals (SYComp) of which all COCS students considered automatic members of upon enrolment and the Web Developers Guild (WDG) which is exclusive for students who have a passion in graphics design and web development. Its outgoing president Ms. Charmie Dalumbar, presented SYComp and WDG recruited new enthusiasts through its president, Mr. Elegio Sandigan.
Dr. Joan Llanos, the SAO Director, also had a short talk on the good manners and modesty of students especially when it comes to proper dress code that is required of a Holynamian. She as well introduced the other SAO coordinators who will help the said office monitor the implementation of the new rules.
An open forum wich was facilitated by Mrs. Maria Isabel R. Abucejo and Ms. Mitzi S. Fortich, both CS faculty members, was made.
The whole program was successfully managed by the emcee, Ms. Elena Cañete, a Computer Science senior student.
