Ultimately, the HNU GS Team won Second Place in the Radio Broadcasting category. Since the fist placer had only one member qualified to join the regional press conference, the HNU GS Team was chosen to represent Tagbilaran City instead.

The group, led by their adviser, Mrs. Michele S. Rellita, M.A., went to Mandaue City, Cebu on November 30-December 3, 2008 to join the Regional Press Conference. At the opening ceremonies, the whole delegation, which filled the entire Mandaue City Sports Complex, was warmly welcomed by local officials and DepEd representatives. A cultural show followed and later, Holynamians had the chance to interact with the other delegates.

One of the highlights of the Mandaue experience was for the HNU-GS group to visit the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) which housed the 2006 ASEAN Summit. They were able to see for themselves the beautiful interior and exterior features of the said structure.

The series of competitions were quite tough for the pupils, and eventually, only one of the HNU GS group made it as a regional winner. Alphaeus Rollin Arcayena won FIRST PLACE in the Editorial Writing (English) category. He was qualified to join the National Press Conference which was held in Naga City last February.
