The 43rd Philippine Association for Graduate Education (PAGE) National Assembly was held at Apple Tree Resort and Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, Opol, Misamis Oriental on February 24-27, 2009 with the theme: "Enhancing Research Culture in Philippine Higher Education Institutions, Part II" Dr. Teotima C. Amborgo, dean of the graduate school of Holy Name University was among the participating Higher Education Institutions (HEI's) deans and administrators nationwide.
The objectives of this year's national assembly were: 1. To provide a venue for bringing together administrators, faculty and research practitioners from higher education institutions and 2. To propose PAGE action programs to enhance research culture in Philippine Higher Education Institutions.
Among the topics discussed were: 1. Passion for research and passion for excellence; 2. Enhancing research culture in Philippine Higher Education Institutions, Part II; 3. Research dissertation and utilization: A Framework for the Application of Research to Practice; 4. Utilizing Software in Learning Selected Test Statistics at the Graduate Level, and 5. Growing concerns on Institution Research Capability Building Implications to Voluntary Accreditation.
The message of the guest speaker, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Angeles, Chairman, Commission on Higher Education, was read to participants.
