Starting first semester of this school year 2008 – 2009, the Campus Ministry Department has strengthened its linkages and coordination with the local church. Fr. Flor Camacho, SVD, the Parish Priest of St. Isidore Parish in Busao, Maribojoc asked the Campus Ministry to help re-organize their youth in order to strengthen their parish’s BEC Program. Since St. Isidore Parish is the only parish in Bohol run by the SVD Congregation, the Campus Ministry grabbed this opportunity of making Busao part of the mission area (outreach) of our student volunteers – for immersion activities.
Thus, the Campus Ministry sends volunteers to Busao every weekend in response to the request of Fr. Flor to organize the youth in four barangays, particularly, Toril, Agahay, Santo Rosaryo and Busao Proper. The volunteers started to conduct meetings, Bible sharings and Taize Prayers every Saturday afternoon with the youth of the abovementioned Barangays. The presence of our student volunteers makes difference in the gatherings of these young people while they reflect, share and worship God together. These experiences deepened the faith-life (spirituality) of our student volunteers thus making them closer to the Creator.
