The College of Computer Science headed by the dean, Mrs. Amie Rosarie C. Caballo, communed at the HNU gymnasium last June 26, 2010 for its annual General Assembly. The said event was well-attended by most students from all the year levels and the faculty members of the said college. This activity is done every year to orient the freshmen of the departmental and institutional policies and to remind the old students of the same. These policies, aside from the academic concerns of the students were presented by the dean of the college. Surprising intermission numbers were presented by the LGU officials and some SYComp members.
Mrs. Maria Celia Z. Ligason presented the faculty members to the participants. The students were delighted to see their instructors’ activities outside of the work area. The institutional and departmental year-round activities were given by Mrs. Eva Marie F. Budiongan while the outreach activities of both the COCS organizations and the faculty by Mrs. Maria Isabel R. Abucejo.
Another highlight of the program was the awarding of certificates to Dean’s List Students. The dean presented the awards to those students who did excellently in the most recent academic year. For the orientation about SAO’s concerns, Ms. Nanelyn Wate, the Coordinator of Students Activities and Women’s Affairs enlightened the students on the dress code and good behavior especially while inside the university premises.
The LGU report was made known through its Governor, Mr. Kevin Manlangit, a senior student. He as well presented the newly elected officers. Society of Young Computer Professionals (SYComp) also presented their newly elected officers through Mr. Ruel Rule, the president. Another COCS organization is the Web Developer’s Guild (WDG). Its policies on memberships and the officers were presented by its president, Ms. Zeecharie Balbin. An open forum was well-moderated by Mr. Apolinar Fudalan and Ms. Mariejoe F. Narca, both faculty of the said college. The program was expertly handled by the emcee, Ms. Christine Marie Zacal, a junior student.
