The College of Education through its dean, shared with the others colleges the little expertise it has to further empower the faculty. Last October 23, the COED Dean gave lecture on "Making Table of Specifications" to the faculty and staff of the College of Nursing. On October 30, he also gave talk on Research Skills Enhancement to faculty and staff of the College of Computer science.
Two foreign nationals extended scholarships to the student not only in the College of Education but also those in other colleges.
Ms. Stella Baek, a Korean national gave full scholarship to one incoming freshman in the COED. She also extended financial support for monthly allowance of one CBA student and another one in the College of Nursing. Furthermore, Ms.Baek also donated one fax machine for use of the same college
Mr. Thomas Vivier, a French national, also granted full scholarship to another incoming freshman. The scholarship does not only include full assistance for tuition and miscellaneous fees but also other school-related expenses such as books, uniforms and others.
The COED students joined the university-wide Rizal Quest for Excellence held on October 3, 2009. The main feature of the event interdepartmental competitions sponsored by the Central Student Government. The contestants of the college, who won the competitions, were the following: Ma. Cristine Margate - 2nd place in the on-the-spot essay writing contest; Margelyn Moncano - third place in the Rizal Quiz. The college also bagged the second place in the Sayawitan contest which depicted the theme of love of country and pride of national heritage.
On October 13, the COED commemorated the feast of the Lady of Fatima in a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Felino Javines, Jr., SVD, the Vice President for Academics of the University of San Carlos. The feast is an annual tradition of the COED faculty, staff and students who invoked the Blessed Mother as patroness of the college.
After the mass, fellowship lunch was served at the COED Viewing Room. The deans, heads, faculty and personnel of the different offices and colleges joined the celebration. The Vice President for Academics, Fr. Ted Gapuz, SVD along with the other members of the SVD community graced the occasion.
