LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT PRESENTS HNU'S PRODUCTION OF EVITA

Ramon BoloronThe overwhelming success of last year's Phantom of the Opera and due to the clamor of the students and teachers for more musical plays, the Languages Department, in the celebration of the 2009 English Days, presented its own adaptation of the spectacular and provocative Musicale, EVITA on October 2 and 3, 2009.

The two showings of the Musicale were witnessed by the huge crowd of students from the different English classes, and the teachers and employees, as well as the administrators of HNU.

The "Musicale EVITA" tells the story of Eva Duarte Peron the former first Lady of Argentine dictator Juan Peron. She had become the most powerful and famous woman. She won the adoration of her people as the champion for the poor. When she died she was mourned by millions.

Jesat Cathy Duce played the role Evita. Richard Jeanjaquet was the Juan Peron. Jeffert Cuyos was the Che Guevarra. The musicale had a total of 94 performers.

The "Musicale EVITA' was made possible through the creative tandem of Mr. Ramon Boloron, Chair, Languages Department and Mr. Marianito Jose Luspo, Director of the Office of Cultural Affairs.
