October 10, 2009 in the COCS faculty calendar was intended for a seminar on Object-Oriented Analysis Using UML. The said seminar, held at the CS main laboratory was well-attended by the COCS instructors headed by the dean, Mrs. Amie Rosarie C. Caballo.
Engr. Eric Hey, a Canadian software engineer was the resource person. He is the proprietor of XSolus Corporation which has been operating in Bohol for years now.
Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a standardized general-purpose modeling language in the field of software engineering. It is used to specify, visualize, modify, construct and document the artifacts of an object-oriented software intensive system under development.
Specific topics on actors, business processes, activities, relationships, multiplicity, and the UML tools were taken up. Different diagrams to model systems namely: activity, sequence, use case and class diagrams were also introduced. The seminar was conducted to enhance the knowledge of the instructors in expressing the design of software projects.
