On the 29th day of September 2009, the Mathematics Area of Holy Name University-High School Department conducted the First Family Math Challenge which was participated by the five-well chosen and equally intelligent families. The families were Engr. And Mrs. Ricardo Salinas with their daughter Geneva, Mr. and Mrs. Miguelito Galendez with Anna Veronica, Dr. and Mrs. Prisciano Legitimas with their son Francis Mart Angelo, Mr. and Mrs. Severino Hormachuelo with Charmaine and the first Family Math Challenge Champion, Mr. and Mrs. Elpidio Gementiza with their daughter Catherine. The event was one of the highlights of the culmination program of the Math-Week Long Celebration which bannered the theme "Mathematics in Unexpected Places and Ways." Fr. Francisco Estepa, SVD, gave an inspirational message during the program hosted by Dr. Marlon Jala, Math teacher.
The show was spearheaded by Mrs. Ma. Delia Arcales, the Math Area Coordinator.
Indeed, the First Family Math-Challenge was a great success and it marked a big difference in the history of the Area Celebration. Kudos Math Teachers!
