Two batches of pupil leaders were made to undergo a Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) at the Multi-Media Center. These are the class and club mayors, vice-mayors and secretaries. The first batch, comprised of Grades 4 to 6 pupil officers, was accommodated on September 17, 2009. The main facilitators were Mrs. Michele Rellita, M.A., the Student Activity Program Coordinator, and Ms. Reina Annibir Corre, the Guidance Counselor of the department. Topics covered were The Johari's Window; Leadership Attributes; Leadership Styles; Restraining vs. Driving Forces; Being Pro-Active Rather than Reactive; and Servant Leadership. Workshops and group dynamics were also given.
On September 24, the second batch of participants ( from Grades 1 to 3 ) had their own LTS, led by the Supreme Pupil Government ( SPG ) officers. The same topics and activities were given but were presented in a simplified version. The pupil leaders seem to have delivered well what was expected of them, and it is good to note that they can also be good facilitators. All young leaders were challenged to always endeavor to carry out their tasks and responsibilities, and go the extra mile without being told to. All are encouraged to follow Jesus' example of servant leadership…. as true witnesses to the Word.
