Best HNU Faculty Research Recognized



The Center for Research and Publications conducted the "Search for Best Faculty Research" on July 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bates Conference Room. There were the five completed institutional research which qualified in the search as follows:

  1. "Examining the (In)Visibility of Gender in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan: Reclaiming a Sidelined Agenda" by Prof. Jay Jeorgienita Obenza and Prof. Regina Macalandag
  2. "Academia-Industry Collaboration of A Philippine University in a Knowledge-Based Economy" by Dr. Lucell Larawan
  3. "Cluster Catechesis: A Journey of Faith of an Evangelizing Church" by Prof. Josefina Cemine
  4. "Paglinang ng Workbuk sa Kritikal na Pag-iisip ng mga Estudyante" by Prof. Ethel Doria and Prof. Fe Conui
  5. "Extent of Compliance with International Accounting Standard (IAS) 41: The Case of Selected Agri-tourism Sites in Bohol" by Prof. Leomar Virador



The distinguished board of judges were Dr. Leah Wilfreda Pilongo, Research Dean, University of Bohol; Dr. Maricel Deloso, Dean-College of Education, Bohol Wisdom School; and Engr. Mary Ann Quiobe, R & D Director, BISU.During the pre-judging, the proponents gave a brief presentation of their study and a few minutes were allotted for the questions and comments.

After the judges’ deliberation, the following research came out as the three finalists:
  • Examining the (In)Visibility of Gender in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan: Reclaiming a Sidelined Agenda
  • Academia-Industry Collaboration of A Philippine University in a Knowledge-Based Economy
  • Paglinang ng Workbuk sa Kritikal na Pag-iisip ng mga Estudyante



From among the three finalists, the study entitled, "Examining the (In) Visibility of Gender in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan: Reclaiming a Sidelined Agenda" was adjudged as the Best Faculty Research. A certificate of recognition and a cash prize of Php 10,000.00 were awarded to the grand winner and a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of Php 3,000.00 were awarded to the top three research work during the Dedication Day 2018.
