CIVIL ENGINEERING PROGRAM GRANTED 5 YEARS PAASCU RE-ACCREDITATION

The Philippine Association of Accrediting Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) has granted the Civil Engineering program re-accreditation for a period of five years. After its re-survey visit last September 27 and 28, 2010, the PAASCU has finally released its result on November 26, 2010.

Meanwhile, the PAASCU will monitor the performance of Civil Engineering graduates in the licensure exam through a progress report on the second year after its grant. However, the PAASCU formal report is yet to follow.

The PAASCU Survey Team which was composed of Dr. Julius Maridable, Mr. Christopher Taclobos, and Dr. Ruby Henson were vigilant with class observations and laboratory evaluation, interviews with the different sectors of the institution including the Administration, Dean, Chairman, Guidance Director and Counselor, Faculty, and students of the college during the survey visit. The team also brought up several particulars and other essentials of the CE program and asked pertinent papers and documents that would support their assessment. They were also very explicit on the qualifications of the teaching force of the college.

The three accreditors re-surveyed the areas of Instruction, Faculty, and Laboratories of the Civil Engineering program.

After two months of waiting until the result was divulged, the College of Engineering is all praises of the positive outcome of a quite considerable rough accreditation. Nevertheless, all the pressures and hardships during the pre-visit are well paid-off.
