The Philippine Association of Accrediting Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) had just recently concluded its two-day survey visit for the Level 2 re-accreditation of the Civil Engineering Program of Holy Name University last September 27 and 28, 2010.

The Survey Team was composed of Dr. Julius Maridable, Chairperson and accreditor for the Instruction area; Mr. Christopher Taclobos and Dr. Ruby Henson, accreditors for Faculty and Laboratories Area, respectively. The three accreditors were accompanied by Mrs. Joy Villareal, a PAASCU representative.

Dr. Maridable is the Chancellor of De La Salle Canlubang, Laguna while Mr. Taclobos is the Dean of the College of Engineering of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in Bacolod City, and Dr. Henson is a professor of the College of Engineering of Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The survey team was vigilant with class observations and laboratory evaluation, interviews with the different sectors of the institution including the Administration, Dean, Chairman, Guidance Director and Counselor, Faculty and students of the college. The team brought up several particulars and other essentials of the CE program and asked pertinent papers and documents that could support their assessment. They were also very specific on the qualifications of the teaching force of the college.

The survey team arrived last Sunday, the 26th of September and they were housed at Panda Tea Garden Suites in Dao this city. The SVD administrators invited them for a welcome dinner also on the same day. The survey team left on September 29.
