HNU-I (Holy Name University - International) will be officially launched on September 4, 2010 at the Academic Conference Room. Together with the core group, all 54 foreign students will be expected to attend the activity dubbed as "Welcome Party with the President." Activities include food fellowship at the Hometel followed by a short program and workshop to assess the needs and concerns of the foreign students. HNU-I programs include improved international admission requirements and application forms which will be downloadable via the HNU website, International Assistance Prgoram (a section of HNU-I), Teaching Basic English to non-native speakers of English before they shall enroll English Plus or English 1 subject, offering English class inclusive for foreign students, introduction to Filipino social customs and Boholano social norms, participation in extension programs, and interfaith services. Mrs. Prudencia Mondragon, School Registrar, is appointed as the International Admission Officer. She is responsible to provide on-going support to the international students throughout their academic engagement in HNU including new applications, advice and assistance on visa renewal, mentoring programs, course information, further study options, and developmental support programs.
Meanwhile, the existing International Assistance Program created by the Guidance Office is coordinated by Mrs. Geraldine Effondol. On-going activities such as school and cultural orientation, academic and individual counseling, meetings, and social interaction are conducted from time to time.
