The College of Engineering is now in its full swing in preparation for the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) accreditation for the Civil Engineering program scheduled on September 27-28, 2010. Engr. James Uy, Dean of the College of Engineering and Engr. Marilou Uy, Chairman of the Civil Engineering Department, have already laid the plans of the said visit since last year after the March 2010 original schedule was postponed this year.
Three committees namely, Faculty, Instruction, and Laboratory were assigned to work for the self-survey and preparations. The Faculty Area is headed by Engr. Rosanne Daquio, while the Committee on Instruction by Engr. Virginia Madanguit, and the Laboratory Area by Engr. Joseph Anthony Petalcorin. Engr. Marilou Uy acts as the overall chairman of the PAASCU Re-accreditation. Each committee is composed of two to four faculty members and three civil engineering students.
Another committee which is equally important is the Committee for Documentation which is headed by Engr. Reynaldo Agunod with Mrs. Jennifer Halasan and Engr. Luz Nuera as members.
The members of the aforesaid committees are now on their final stage of preparation giving much weight on the previous recommendations of the PAASCU visit in 2007 when level 1 accreditation was granted to the CE program.
