The doctoral class of Dr. Prisciano S. Legitimas in Educ 321 - Seminar in Values Education conducted a symposium on "Introspection and Work Ethics" last May 8, 2010 to the working scholars of Holy Name University at the Alumni Audio Visual Hall in Janssen Heights, Dampas campus.
The symposium was opened with a prayer followed by an introduction from the class professor Dr. Prisciano S. Legitimas. The session was divided into 2 parts; the first on "Introspection" was handled by Mrs. Michele S. Rellita and "Work Ethics" by Mrs. Leisle A. Dopeño. The working scholars listened intently because the input centered on self and the balancing of their curricular activities and work. Mr. Brazil Sabacajan, emceed the said symposium.
Likewise, the Practicum in Administration and Supervision class of Dr. Teotima C. Amborgo presented their research outputs to the Administration and Supervision majors last March 20, 2010. The proceedings of the presentation were ably handled by the proponents, Sr. Cecilia Lumayag, Sr. Geraldine Ong and Mrs. Jesie Bayocot.
Activities like these are expected every semestral end as a course requirement and in a way an evaluation of their learning.
In a separate development, the graduate school enrolment has increased for the First Semester 2010-2011. It registered two hundred twelve (212) enrollees compared to last year's First Semester enrolment with one hundred ninety-four (194) or an increase of 18 (18) students representing, 8.49 percent. Of the 212 enrollees, twenty-two (22) were transferees or 10.38 percent. When asked of their reason for transferring to HNU, two prevalent ones came out; (1) they opted for a standard/quality education and (2) distance problem/cost of travel (for those who enrolled for graduate studies outside Bohol).
