ORIENTATION FOR NEW MEMBERS OF THE HNU FAMILY
The new Faculty and Staff of HNU during the orientation.
The Holy Name University regularly conducts a formal welcome for all the new members of the faculty and the administrative support staff through an orientation program. For this school year, 56 new members were initiated into the HNU system during the two-day "Faculty and Staff Orientation" held on June 19-20, 2009 at the HNU- Main AV Hall (first day) and the Academic Conference Room (second day). The participants included members of the Grade School Department (2), High School Department (2), College of Nursing (20), College of Business and Accountancy (7), College of Education (2), College of Engineering (2), College of Arts and Sciences (2), Non-Academic Personnel (11) and the Campus Ministry ( 8).

The new members were given a simple but warm welcome by no less than the President, Fr. Francisco T. Estepa, SVD. After the introduction and the leveling -off f the participant's expectations, the following sessions were conducted during the first day: History and Organizational Structure by Mr. Marianito Luspo, Director, OCAD; HNU - Vision, Mission and Goals by Ms. Josefina T. Cemine, Coordinator, Center for Local Governance; The Arnold Janssen Spirituality and the Campus Ministry Program by Fr. Ramilo Mapaye, SVD, Assistant CM Director. After the lunch break Dr. Jemma J. Jay, Dean, CBA discussed the University Policies (Faculty Duties And Obligations: Attendance/ Absences, Dress Code, Class Decorum, Grades And Exams), Employment Status (Teaching Load, Rank And Tenure) and HRD Program for the faculty members while Ms. Leovida E. Gudito, Bookkeeper discussed the University Policies (Employee Development Program, Performance Appraisal and Code of Ethics) for the Administrative Support Staff. The Salary Computation, Benefits and Privileges were discussed by Ms. Fe Namoc, Internal Auditor.
The sessions for the second day include the following: Professional Ethics by Dr. Roque Bongcac, Dean, College Of Education; Research Agenda, Policies, Programs and Activities by Ms. Maria Paz J. Espiritu, Coordinator, Research Center; and, Community Extension And Development Program (Integrated Development Plan, Programs And Activities, Faculty Involvement) Engr. Noel Uy, Director, CEDEV. The orientation program closed after a Commitment Activity where the new members were asked how they can contribute to the realization of the HNU Vision.
