SEPARATION OF THE CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND LOCAL GOVERNANCE (CRLG)
The new Research Office.
Holy Name University in 1999 was chosen as one of the Centers for Local Governance (CLG) in the country during the implementation of the Governance and Local Democracy (GOLD) Project. The CLG, being in its infancy stage, was temporarily lodged at the Research Center. Over the years, the CLG has successfully developed its own identity among LGUs and NGOs it has served; thus, the need to wean it from the Research Center became inevitable.
Office of the Center for Local Governance
On March 2009, the late Fr. Romeo P. Bancale, SVD decided that the CRLG be separated into two offices; to wit, the Research Center (RC) and the Center for Local Governance (CLG). Both offices are under the direct supervision of Fr. Francisco T. Estepa, SVD. The Research Center staff is composed of Maria Paz J. Espiritu as Research Coordinator with Theresa K. Tapales as secretary and Angelo P. Yuayan as Research Associate. The CLG meanwhile has Josephine T. Cemine as CLG Coordinator with Jhumaima P. Belderol as secretary and Christian Anuta as Research Associate.
The two offices are presently located adjacent to each other. The blessing of the offices was made on July 27, 2009 and some members of the HNU Family graced the occasion.
