Last December 13, 2008, the Civic Welfare Training Service of Holy Name University, conducted its Christmas Activity with the theme "HALAD SA PASKO." The main purpose of the activity was to give tribute to the shoe repair owners specifically those who are located at the Agora Market for their unending service to the community.
Attended by all the CWTS students, the said beneficiaries were invited at the HNU main gymnasium where a half day program was prepared for them. The guests were welcomed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and at the same time the Director of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), Fr. Romeo P. Bancale, SVD.
The students presented songs and dance numbers as their gifts to the guests.
In reply, the shoe repair owners also sang a Christmas song for everyone.
Each guest was given a bag of grocery items, courtesy of CWTS; a free lunch was also given to them.
It is hoped that the partnership will be enhanced since the CWTS is planning to provide them with small stalls for their everyday activity at their work area.
