Scholarships

 

The Office of Scholarship is responsible for the planning and implementation of the scholarship programs that aim to mold the University scholars in a holistic manner.

The Office assists in processing applications for externally funded students’ financial assistance and scholarship programs.

The office monitors the performance of the non-academic and working scholars.

The Office accepts and screens academic scholarship applicants, monitors, and evaluates academic performance, and keeps records and master list of both University-funded and externally-funded scholars.

University Funded Scholarships

A. Academic Scholarships

These scholarships are granted to deserving students with high academic performance who must maintain a specific average grade required by each scholarship programs:

1. Entrance Scholarship. This scholarship is granted to high school honor graduates who are:

a. Valedictorian – 100% discount on tuition fees

b. Salutatorian – 50% discount on tuition fees

c. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Honorable Mention – (ranging from 30% - 5% depending on what category the student belongs)

This scholarship can be availed of for two semesters if the scholars incur no grade below 2.5, and marks of NC, INC, INE, DR, and NA during the first semester.

2. Resident Scholarship. This scholarship is granted to full-time students, with one semester of residence in the University, who earned at least 18 academic units and who have demonstrated very high academic standing. They must have obtained the following weighted average grades to avail of the tuition fee discount privileges:

1.00 – 1.15 - 100% tuition fee discount

1.16 – 1.25 - 50% tuition fee discount

3. Fr. Alphonse Lesage Scholarship. (In relation to P.D. 451 of 1974). This scholarship is granted to needy but deserving students who will be selected by the Scholarship Screening Committee. Students who have one year residence in the college with at least 1.5 weighted average, no 5.0 grade, and no marks of NC, INC, INE, DR, and NA can qualify for this scholarship. Free tuition fee ranging from 21 to 24 units, whichever applies, is available to non-graduating and graduating students, respectively.

4. Fr. Joseph Bates Scholarship. This scholarship is granted to poor but deserving students with the following qualifications:

  • They have enjoyed Entrance Scholarship for one year
  • They have demonstrated high academic performance (no 5.0, and no marks of NC, INC, INE, DR, and NA) and were selected by the Scholarship Screening Committee
  • They have a weighted average grade of 1.5 and in every semester thereafter during the terms of his/her scholarship.

Free tuition fee ranging from 21 to 24 units, whichever applies, is available to non-graduating and graduating students, respectively. There is only one Fr. Joseph Bates scholar at a time.
