Vice President for Administration

Fr. Semie B. Rebayla, SVD, also known as Fr. Sem, was born on December 6, 1976 to parents (+) Generoso Rebayla, Sr. and (+) Norberta Baluca of St. Bernard, Southern Leyte. He is the youngest of six (6) siblings. Fr. Sem has an older brother, also an SVD priest, Fr. Generoso Rebayla, Jr.

He attended St. Bernard Central Elementary School and Cristo Rey Regional High School, St. Bernard, Southern Leyte for his elementary and secondary education, respectively.

He joined the Society of the Divine Word and made his profession of vows in the year 2000. In his last year in theological studies, he was the head of the seminarians’ apostolate (Apostolate Servant). He was ordained in 2005, as a member of the Vox Dei class.

His first assignment was to the foreign missions in Nicaragua. This country is part of the Central American Region, composed of Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua. He served as a parochial vicar in Los Chiles, Rio San Juan, Nicaragua. After his term, he was transferred to Costa Rica for about two years. When he returned to Nicaragua, he served as the parish priest of his previous parish and concurrently as the District Superior of Nicaragua.

When he came back to the Philippines in December 2012, he was first stationed at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Veruela, Agusan Sur as Parochial Vicar. Then, he became the District Superior of the Agusan missions based in Trento. He took care of the sub-parish of Sinobong in Veruela town.

He took up MBA at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City.

He was appointed Assistant Vice President for Administration of Holy Name University in July 2020. Starting the second semester of 2021-2022, he has been the Vice President for Administration.

Fr. Rebayla holds an MA in Theology.
