Center for Local Governance

Vision

Christian professionals providing quality service to public servants and community leaders for a dynamic and effective organization.

The University has involved itself in various activities that develop and strengthen the capabilities of local government units. In 1995, its involvement in local governance was heightened through GOLD Project of the USAID. Its efforts were recognized when it was chosen as one of the eight Centers of Local Governance in the country.

On August 16, 1999, HNU formally opened its Center for Local Governance (GLG) as a special unit of the Research Center. In its initial stages, financial support was provided by USAID through a sub-grant with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). The Associates in Rural Development (ARD) was also instrumental in giving the Center technical assistance.

The HNU-CLG provides customized training programs and technical assistance to the local government units and various sectors of the civil society.

Pool of Trainers and Facilitators

The HNU-CLG is further strengthened by its pool of competent and dynamic facilitators and trainers from various disciplines. The Center conducts trainings and facilitation workshops with the different local government units and private institutions within and outside the Province of Bohol.
