PANDA Grid Workshop
The 7th PANDA Grid Workshop will take place in Bohol, Philippines, between May 4 - 8, 2009. The workshop is organized by the Ateneo de Manila University and GSI.
The purpose of the workshop is to bring grid administrators together with PandaRoot, MonALISA and AliEn developers. The atmosphere at the workshop will be informal, without contributed or invited talks but open group discussions.
The main goal of the workshop is to allow the participants to share experiences in setting and maintaining the grid sites and to run production jobs. The workshop's themes will include gridware, MonALISA and PandaRoot.
This will be the first workshop with official participation from the Philippines. One of the main goals will be to solve specific problems of new Philippine Grid sites and bring as many as possible into full production status.
The participants will be required to bring their own notebook computers. The sessions will take place in one meeting room equipped with an ethernet hub and an overhead digital projector. Participants must to be able to log on remotely to their sites and perform administration tasks.
In light of these goals, the number of participants must and will be limited to 20.

Fees
There will be an attendance fee of EUR 150 per person which will cover the workshop dinner and trip. Participants will have to pay for their own travel, meals and accomodation.
Forum
PANDA collaboration members are kindly asked to register to the GSI forum Grid and Infrastructure. Once the transition is made, the old forum will not be used anymore. Network access
There will be wireless available within the hotel and cabled network access as a backup.
Tea, coffee and meals
Tea, coffee and cookies will be served in the meeting room. For lunches we will go to the hotel cafeteria, restaurant or one of the many excellent restaurants nearby.
MODEL2009
During the first two days the workshop will run in parallel with MODEL2009, which will offer a good opportunity for outreach activities. We will organize presentations on PandaRoot, PANDA Grid, and PANDA Computing in general.
Trip and dinner
The workshop trip be on Wednesday. The trip will start at 13:00. The official conference tour around the island of Bohol will include the famous chocolate hills, the Philippine tarsier (Tarsius syrichta), one of the smallest known primates and the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon which is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. The workshop dinner will be on Tuesday evening. Additionally an optional diving tour will be offered on the weekend after the workshop.
