The College of Computer Science celebrated its big day last February 6, 2010 at the Lesage gymnasium. This year's theme is rather different from the earlier years. The students agreed on a Korean theme to come to terms with the entertainment trends in the country today.
The event commenced with a holy mass officiated by Fr. Ruel F. Lero, SVD, the new dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. The emcee, Mr. Jonathan Rhey Tan, warmed up each year level to present their cheers and yells. The dean, Mrs. Amie Rosarie C. Caballo, delivered the welcome address.
All students wore clothing according to Korean fashion. There were several games played by the students from each year level and the faculty representatives. There was a contest on the best pair of muse and escort. After each pair showed off its stuff, the freshmen, Ms. Jessa Jane Romo and Mr. Jesus Edward Asis, won the title. The best banner was awarded to the juniors.
Everyone who stayed in the gym for lunch was crooned to by some student singers. Selected students from each year level and the LGU officers entertained the audience with a variety of songs and dances. Students applauded the faculty members and staff with gusto during the faculty hour. The faculty members kept up in style with their moves and outfits as well. The female members danced with chic and style the Korean version of the dance hit "Insomnia" while the male instructors comically danced the famous "Nobody" song. More to this, the instructors showed their acting skills by imitating scenes of some famed Koreanovelas and singing of the corresponding theme songs. Student's knowledge on the Korean invasion to the Philippines was also tested when the instructors initiated a game on Korean trivia.
The event was hosted by the LGU officers led by the governor, Mr. Richard Mark Anthony Araneta.
