HNU GRADE SCHOOL DEPARTMENT CELEBRATES SINULOG 2010

The Grade School Department successfully celebrated a festive sinulog with the theme: "The Word: The Child Jesus Giving Hope for a New Life," as a thanksgiving for the departmental patron saint Señor Santo Niño. The four -day affair lasted from January 20 to 23 at the Janssen Heights Campus. The said event was made possible by Mrs. Michelle S. Rellita, Grade School Student Activity Program Coordinator, the Supreme Pupil Government Officers, and the department staff and faculties.

The jovial celebration commenced with a Triduum and followed by an array of activities. Booths manned by the grade schoolers were opened to the public on the first day of the celebration. A favorite of many was the horror booth. In the classrooms, pupils played games such as sungka, dama, and Chinese checkers.

On the following day, everyone gathered in the gynasium for a holy mass celebrated by the SVD priests. The highlight of the second day was the entertaining show staged by the GS faculty aptly called "Jolly Hour," where teachers showcased their talents in drama.

A motorcade of the "Little Mr. And Miss HNU" that started from Gallares St. to the Janssen Heights Campus took place on the third day. This was followed by a Eucharistic Celebration in honor of Señor Santo Niño and a procession of the image of the Holy Child around the campus. For the rest of the day, the GS pupils dressed in their colorful costumes and carrying their flower offerings, performed their respective Sinulog Dance Presentations. The Academic-Literary-Musical Competition was likewise held on the same day at the High School Gymnasium.

Every year, the Grade School Family celebrates the Feast of the Señor Sto. Niño with much joy and exuberance. This is a tradition in HNU that has lived on for many years and will continue to be so for the many years to come.
