What is Campus Ministry?

The Campus Ministry is an essential and an officially recognized apostolate of the Catholic Church. It is primarily directed to the integral growth of students, faculty, non-teaching personnel, administrators, and others who are served by colleges and universities of higher education. It aims to promote theological and biblical study and reflection for the formation of Christian values.

The Campus Ministry is one of the important ways by which the Church exercises her mission in the field of higher education. It is the heart of the apostolate of every Catholic institution. As such, it is concerned in the formation of true and mature Christians who constitute Basic Christian communities. The ministry aims to do this by way of teaching, preaching, witnessing the Word of God, partaking of the sacraments, celebrating and proclaiming the liturgy, along with the caring of the youth through proper pastoral counseling.

The functions of the Campus Ministry are summarized in the following categories, namely: liturgical, pastoral, educational, prophetic, counseling, and organizational.
